The Lumedx Apollo system is designed to streamline the documentation of cardiac procedures. To generate a report, the clinician must first "Fetch" the patient data from the Clinical Data Repository. Once the record is open, the system will automatically populate "Smart Fields" with data pulled from the cath lab monitors, such as hemodynamic pressures and fluoroscopy times. Users should verify these auto-populated fields before moving to the narrative section.
The "Structured Reporting" module uses a point-and-click interface to build a clinical narrative. Instead of typing long paragraphs, select the relevant findings from the drop-down menus (e.g., "Left Main Artery: 70% Stenosis"). The Apollo system then assembles these selections into a grammatically correct, professional report. This structure ensures that the data is "searchable" for later research and quality-of-care audits.
Before finalizing, click the "Validate" button at the bottom of the screen. The Apollo system will run a check to ensure all mandatory fields required by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) registries are filled. Once validated, clicking "Sign & Submit" will simultaneously lock the record in Apollo and send a PDF copy to the hospital’s primary EMR (like Epic or Cerner) via the HL7 interface.
